Denpasar - Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., gave direction to all unit commanders and heads of implementing sections in the ranks of Kodam IX/Udayana, both directly and via video conference (Vidcon) in the Supardi Makodam Hall IX/Udayana, Denpasar, on Monday, September 18, 2023.
The activity began with a presentation by Aspers Kasdam IX/Udayana regarding the plan to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the TNI in 2023. Followed by a presentation by Danpomdam IX/Udayana, represented by Wadanpomdam IX/Udayana, regarding the role and function of Pomad in supporting TNI neutrality in the 2024 election, as well as a presentation by Kakumdam IX/Udayana regarding TNI neutrality and law enforcement within the TNI.
Meanwhile, Pangdam IX/Udayana, in his direction, emphasized that the TNI is neutral in political life and does not involve itself in practical political activities. Violations of TNI neutrality committed by active TNI members can be charged under the Election Law, Military Disciplinary Sanctions, and Military Criminal and General Crimes. No TNI member is above the law, regardless of rank.
"This has been conveyed repeatedly, starting with the TNI Commander, until now the Military Commander has conveyed it to the rank and file units. Now it is your job, the Dansat, to emphasize this to the members. I hope that the unit commanders will hold a commander's hour to explain this neutrality so that there are no members in the field "who acted wrongly. If there are still those who violate, they must be prepared for the applicable legal sanctions," said the military commander.
The Military Commander further emphasized that, regarding the recruitment or acceptance of TNI AD Soldiers at Kodam IX/Udayana, there is no charge or fee to become a TNI AD Soldier. No one received money for recruitment activities for TNI AD soldiers. "I emphasize that no member of Kodam IX/Udayana received monetary rewards for bringing in soldiers, whether non-commissioned officers, enlisted officers, or officers," emphasized the Pangdam.
Regarding TNI-Polri synergy, the Military Commander appealed to all Kodam IX/Udayana soldiers to continue to increase synergy with other security forces, especially with the police. "So that we are not pitted against each other, especially when facing the 2024 election period, we must maintain unity in the field according to our respective portions," appealed the Military Commander.
Those present at the activity included Kasdam IX/Udayana, Irdam IX/Udayana, Kapoksahli Pangdam IX/Udayana, Danrem 163/WSA, Asrendam IX/Udayana, Assistants to Kasdam IX/Udayana, Dansat/Kabalakdam IX/Udayana, and were also attended by Danrem 161/WS and Danrem 162/WB along with their staff via videocon in their respective work rooms.
